Hey Steven, great post. I wasn’t aware of the specifics of this turnaround. I too wonder how sustainable their products are, but it sounds as if they are set to be able to compete for awhile, with the huge cost reductions. I’d be curious to know more details about how they met their new capacity with so many less bakeries, and how they chose which SKUs to cut.

Kate, great post. I was really excited to see a post about Hinkley, as I love their yachts. I’m curious, do you know how their manufacturing process flows? Do they have those 30 or less boats in some sort of assembly line, or do they have a team for each new boat, like a job shop? I would be curious, and would love to tour their operations someday.

Hey Tom, really great TOM post. I wasn’t aware of this issue that L.L. Bean had with their famous boot and I never would have guessed how popular they are with the teens these days. What do you think the implications of them increasing capacity, eventually eliminating the backorders and keeping up with supply? What do you think the implications would be if demand would be reduced and they were in an overcapacity situation?
