Thanks for the comment, Maggie! You and I both know the Publix bakery and deli are second to none! It is true that while customer service is the main value proposition of Publix, it is also competing and winning on quality. Many of its ads challenging Walmart focus on the superior quality of its products. Publix makes its own bakery, deli, and dairy products but outsources its Publix-branded canned and packaged goods to national food processors. With a relatively small footprint, Publix is able to support its operations with only six manufacturing facilities and eight distribution centers in Florida and Georgia.

Great post, Pia! My biggest pain point with my doctor in New York was that I could not reach him for quick questions outside of an appointment. I am glad to see One Medical is trying to solve this and other pain points.

How do insurance companies view One Medical? Do they have any issues with getting reimbursement for visits and procedures?

Great post! I would have thought that since the cost is 1.6x higher than other hospital systems, the doctors would also be paid above average salaries. Do you think the solution is to have more specialized hospitals so the asset and labor utilization rates are higher?

Thanks for the information on Wayfair! Do you think Amazon is the biggest competition for Wayfair? What would happen to Wayfair if Amazon decided to expand its furniture and home decor business and use its purchasing power with suppliers to squeeze margins?
