Great article with an interesting spin on the benefits of closed vs. open innovation. You mentioned the control of user experience that FB has by using a closed system. Are there tradeoffs that come with this? I thought the blockchain example you used was also interesting; as more organizations leverage blockchain in the future, will they have any challenges moving toward an open system again? What will be required to make this shift?

Awesome article! I’m interested to know if Winsun is able to print other materials aside from concrete? If not, do you think this limits their growth potential? If they do, does this impact the quality of the final product/home? I’m also curious about how governments will create the proper building codes for companies like this. For example, if the home is damaged or deteriorates due to structural issues, who is liable? You also mentioned the concerns of the developers and architects; I wonder if there’s potential to leverage open innovation and get buy in from these stakeholders as Winsun grows in the future.

Thanks for sharing! It was great to learn about this organization. You mentioned some concerns about the challenges of a nonprofit organization being dependent on a for-profit organization. Additionally, do you think the work is available and sustainable given the funding pressures that nonprofits often face? What are your thoughts on an organization like this being brought in house by a larger pharma company?

Thanks for sharing. This is an amazing technology that I was thrilled to learn about. I’m curious about how you think Organovo will thrive in the future as they face profitability challenges and as more competitors enter the space. Additionally, do you foresee any additional regulatory scrutiny? I’m also interested to learn if you think that Organovo should specialize in liver production or if there are any additional benefits to expansion of 3D printing other types of human tissue?

Great article and interesting read! While online/app dating is becoming more common and acceptable, it still remains challenging for certain demographics, and I think there’s real potential for ML/AI to play a role in improving the customer experience for these groups. This reminded me of a story that I read when Apple introduced the facial recognition technology; however, the technology was often more difficult to use for people of color when it was first introduced because of the population it was tested with. I’m curious to get your thoughts on algorithmic justice and how should companies/employees be more thoughtful about the technology they’re building.

Great article! I’m a Spotify user and fan, and I’ve often wondered how they use data and algorithms to recommend new music that I usually like. I’m curious to get your thoughts on the competitive landscape and use of ML/AI in generating recommendations. Additionally, do you think it makes sense for Spotify to partner with other companies/streaming services that make recommendations based on ML? For example, could it be beneficial for Spotify to partner with Netflix or Amazon? Are there things about music recommendations that could tell us about individual preference in other areas of life?
