Book Wishlist App for Parents/Children – Optimize Public Library Service and Support for Better Child Education and Community

With the COVID-19 and likely economic downturn and tax revenue decrease in 2021, I started to wonder if public library operation will face significant operational challenges, especially possible long wait for children print books. I hope to see no significant causality here but with the assumption of possible library operational challenges, the idea of creating a book wishlist app is explored. Providing solution platform for library operational enhancement under financial and sustainability constraints is my objective. As this idea is subject to further research and consideration, any feedback, thoughts, insights will be greatly appreciated.

Participant comments on Book Wishlist App for Parents/Children – Optimize Public Library Service and Support for Better Child Education and Community

  1. Interesting idea. Worth exploring. Who would be paying customers ? Library ? or patrons ?

    1. Hi Suresh, thanks for your comments. That is a great question. Libraries pay fee or subscription for saving their book acquisition cost or securing additional procurement source. Advertising revenue from publisher, educator and others is the main revenue source. Appreciate any thoughts or suggestions!
