March 2021 Immersion – Ideating and Networking: From Personal Case to Market

April 14, 2021

Describe and submit your digital, data or analytics opportunities that have emerged from the HBAP ideating and network: From Personal Case to Market immersion activity. In your submissions, please include the following details:

  1. Vision and value proposition: quick one-sentence overview of the opportunity and value you provide to your business, customers or suppliers (describe it in 140 characters or less).

Some examples to help you brainstorm: Send better email (MailChimp), Rides in minutes (Lyft), A great shave for a few bucks a month (Dollar Shave Club), Shorten. Share. Measure. (Bitly)

  1. The problem: what problem are you solving
  2. Target market and opportunity: who is your ideal customer and what is the estimated market size
  3. The solution: how will others (e.g., customers, clients, suppliers etc.) use your product and how will it solve their problems
  4. Team: who’s on the team and why they’re the right people (what other positions do you need to fill?)
  5. Competition: how are you different from the competition or alternatives in the market today
  6. Images and Visuals: please use any images or visuals that would help to convey your idea or vision

 Rules and Competition Timeline:

  1. Eligibility: Submissions must come from students who attended the HBAP ideating and networking: from personal case to market activity, held on Tuesday March 30, 2021 from 12-1:30pm ET. Pre-assignment found on immersion course site and here, due Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 5pm ET.
  2. Deadline: Submission portal opens Tuesday March 30, 2021 at 1:30PM ET and closes on Wednesday April 14, 2021 at 11:55pm ET.
  3. Submission rules: All idea submissions must fall within the scope of business analytics solutions or applications. Multiple idea submissions are permitted and participants can be members of more than one submitting team.
  4. HBAP voting and commenting: All HBAP community members (students/staff/faculty) are eligible to participate in (anonymous) voting and commenting the week of April 19, 2021.
  5. Community norms: Please be respectful of each other’s ideas and opportunities. If you have a similar idea as another participant, take advantage of this opportunity to connect with one another and potentially collaborate. It is generally helpful to talk about your ideas with others (you don’t need to give away the secret sauce!). Make this a first-mover advantage to get attention on your market opportunity and not a competitor’s.

Winners will be offered personalized, 1-on-1 coaching sessions with HBAP faculty and Leading Entrepreneurs and VCs in Tech, AI and business analytics!

Mentors include Prof. Karim Lakhani, Prof. Jeff Polzer, Prof. Ayelet Israeli, Vladimir Jacimovic, Rana el Kaliouby, Doug Levin, Rob May, John Paul Milciunas, and John Winsor (see the About page for more details).
