What an intriguing post and business model! Thanks for posting about this Daniel! I wonder if through their consulting services, they will be able to determine unmet market demand and begin developing tools in that area. Over time, they can begin developing more services and vertically integrating the workflow to become a dominant player in the field!

Thanks for the post Sutton – this is a very interesting space! Gong IO’s work reminds me of the recent controversy over Zoom mulling whether or not to implement Intel’s AI to detect bored students ( and also harkens a little to Affectiva’s work.

I think a lot of the criticisms of AI/facial recognition apply here as well. We keep on thinking that adding more data to the equation will help, but it remains to be seen!

I was debating whether or not to write my post on OpenAI – glad you took it on! I’m especially interested in seeing how OpenAI can leverage their close relationship with Microsoft to possibly conduct A/B testing on applications of their AI models and identify the high yield markets they can target.

I wonder if Substack could take a page out of Pocket’s handbook and surface article recommendations or partner with Pocket to show other recommended Substack blogs. I wonder if they might take a page out of the Threadless playbook to bundle services and offer “Substack Plus” premium service for newsletter writers who want to sell merchandise or premium sticker packs, meet and greets, or other products to readers.

Building on Alex’s question, I also wonder how Pandora might leverage these online shopping experiences to reach more rural and remote markets where they do not already have a physical presence such as combining augmented reality technology with their “virtual try-on simulation” or to help with sizing items.
