Florenta is an Assistant Professor of Strategy at the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California. Her main areas of interest are the economics of innovation, creativity and the impact of technology on society. Florenta’s research agenda is composed of two research streams: factors influencing the process of knowledge production at the individual researcher level, and the relationship between knowledge advancement and markets. Through her first research stream, she examines various factors influencing the productivity and project choices of knowledge workers, such as availability of research technology, breadth and depth of expertise, collaboration and knowledge accumulation. As part of her second research stream, Florenta is interested in the role of technological advancement in influencing entrepreneurship activity and labor markets.
