On February 26, 2019, the Harvard Global Health Institute will host an AI and Global Health Summit, the first of its kind for HGHI’s community. Hype vs. Reality: The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Global Health will bring together leading Harvard and MIT groups to explore the potential, promise and challenges of implementing AI-based systems to deliver healthcare in low and middle income countries (LMICs).
To drive this exploration of AI for global health, the event will convene many groups that are deeply engaged in adjacent fields. HGHI aims to leverage the collective expertise of these groups to critically examine core themes as they relate to access, quality and cost of healthcare, including considerations around data, ethical concerns and skill shifting. The forum will include the participation of groups implementing AI solutions in LMICs to allow for a richer understanding of the ground realities.
