The truth about blockchain
The exciting possibilities surrounding blochain are unavoidable — well, or at least the hype is. But Professors Marco Iansiti and Karim Lakhani argue that truly transformative adoption of blockchain is still years away. The reason lies in the type of technology blockchain is, that is, foundational rather than disruptive. Because cheaper technology will not drive implementation, companies will need other incentives to adopt blockchain. Marco is the David Sarnoff Professor of Business Administration and co-chair of the Digital Initiative at Harvard Business School.
Karim is the Charles E. Wilson Professor of Business Administration and faculty co-founder of the Digital Initiative at Harvard Business School, as well as the founder and co-director of the Laboratory for Innovation Science at Harvard.
